Chemistry Senior Three Term Two
ABOUT
This course covers the content for Senior 3, Term 2 of the Ugandan National Curriculum, with a focus on the Using Equations in Chemistry and Structures of Substances as the main themes.
Theme 1: Using Equations in Chemistry
In this theme, You develop the ability to explore the relationships between reactants and products, predict the outcomes of reactions, and calculate the quantities of matter involved. This theme integrates theoretical concepts, such as the mole and stoichiometry, with practical applications, equipping you with essential skills for real-world problem-solving. Furthermore, the study of chemical equations fosters critical thinking, precision, and a deeper appreciation for the transformative nature of chemical processes.
Theme 2: Structures of Substances
This theme explains why substances behave the way they do, from their physical appearance to their chemical reactivity. By examining the arrangement of particles within substances and their interactions, you will gain insights into the fundamental principles governing matter. This theme lays a foundation for exploring how properties and structures influence practical applications. The theme also emphasizes the importance of synthesizing chemical formulae and interpreting chemical equations. By learning to write and balance chemical equations, learners will understand how atoms and molecules interact during reactions.
