ABOUT

This course covers the content for Senior 3, Term 3 of the Ugandan National Curriculum, with a focus on the Fuels and Energy and Reactants and Products as the main themes.

Theme 1 : Fuels and Energy

This theme explores the origins and types of fossil fuels, their importance as energy sources, and their role in providing essential materials for everyday life. You will uncover how these resources have fueled industrial and economic growth while also examining the environmental and sustainability challenges they present. By understanding the balance between utilizing fossil fuels and transitioning to renewable energy alternatives, You will appreciate the critical role energy plays in global development and the need for sustainable solutions for future generations.

Theme 2 : Reactants and Products

This theme delves into the factors affecting the rate of chemical reactions and explores how these changes can be explained using the kinetic particle model. You will investigate how collisions between particles influence reaction rates and understand the conditions that can accelerate or slow down these processes. Additionally, the concept of reversible reactions will be introduced, highlighting their significance in industrial applications such as the Haber process and the Contact process.
